Peter Abery

Living in Newcastle, NSW, since age two, Peter Abery is now based near Inverell in country NSW to further pursue his passion of astrophotography.

Starting digital photography underwater and moving towards landscapes, in more recent years he has progressed to photography of storms, and later, the night sky.

After completing his Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging at Newcastle Art School in 2021, he has travelled extensively in order to capture award winning sweeping nightscape panoramas and vistas.

In 2023 he worked as a night sky telescope guide in Coonabarabran, a job which gave him great opportunities to photograph the night sky in and around the Warrumbungle Dark Sky Park.

Peter's photos are not blended or composite, as he maintains the integrity of the subjects as he saw it.

He is now instructing photography, especially night skies, out of his studio near Inverell.
